Venia GymSports

Venia GymSports was founded by Kate Johnson at the end of 2006.

Kate began her gymnastics career at 6 years of age in a recreational gymnastics program.  Kate and her sister Emily started in a one hour a week session and progressed to become sucessful rhythmic gymnasts who ultimately represented their club at both State and National level.

During the 2002 National Championships Emily was selected to compete in the Australian Level 7 Team in the Trans-Tasman Challenge.  Emily and her Australian team members won the competition against New Zealand and brought home Gold for Australia.  A proud moment for Kate who coached Emily during these years.

Kate and Emily began volunteer coaching at a young age and when the RG-JETS (Rhythmic-Gymnastics - Junior Elite Talent Squads) progam was established for Elite Rhythmic Gymnasts in South Australia, Kate and Emily were both selected as primary coaches.  In 2006 Kate was promoted to the Head Coach position and has continued to work meticulously with the athletes in the program ensuring fantastic results for the gymnasts and for the growth and development of the sport of Rhythmic Gymnastics in South Australia.

Venia GymSports is an incorporated entity and the Coaches, with support from the Venia GymSports Management Committee, administer the general day to day running of the club.  These dedicated volunteers, along with the Coaching staff, are responsible for dealing with initial enquiries, financial matters, gymnast registrations, training venue and times, internal camps and clinics, supporting the Talent Identification Plan and the management of equipment.

The Head Coach of Venia GymSports and development coaches’ deal with the day-to-day processes needed to maintain the gymnastics programs offered at Venia GymSports.

Kate is dedicated to ensure that every athlete that joins at Venia GymSports is given the oppourtunity to reach their personal potential.
